Greetings from Pastor Ted

Hello, Jackson! My name is Ted Carnahan, and I’m the newly called pastor of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. My wife Jennifer and I have four children: Anneliese (13), Peter (11), Rebecca (9), and Laura (7). We are looking forward to sharing life and ministry with you in Jackson!Prior to this call to Jackson, I served both Spirit of Grace Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska and Church of the Way in Lincoln, Nebraska as a mission developer (church planter). I am a 2011 graduate of Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa where I earned my Master of Divinity degree. While at Wartburg, I focused on the role of the Holy Spirit in creativity, as well as creative new uses of technology in local churches. I also served a year as a musician for the seminary’s chapel. I like to compose music, sing, and play the piano.Jennifer and I are both originally from Missouri. We met at Truman State University in Kirksville where she studied biology and music and I studied computer science and statistics. In 2004 we graduated, married, and moved to Columbia, Missouri where I ran a small software company focusing on educational and research software. With such a dramatic change in careers, I like to say that I’m proof that God has a sense of humor.Nowadays you can find Jennifer at home with our four children as a busy homemaker and homeschool mom. In my free time, I like to spend time with my family, build and fly radio controlled aircraft, do woodworking projects, and tinker with computers. We probably ought to update our family photo, this one is two years old, the kids are growing like weeds, and I’m a bit thinner with a shorter beard, but Jennifer is just as pretty and the kids are still cute!
