Serving in Worship

Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! ~Psalm 100:1–2

Serving in worship is a good way to serve the Lord as well as your neighbors at Our Savior’s. Consider if one (or more) of these serving opportunities is right for you, and then contact the church office to let us know that you’re willing to help.

Greeters — The smiling faces that greet people at the door, answer a few questions, and provide a helping hand. Good for people who like people.

Ushers — The behind-the-scenes folks who distribute bulletins, help collect the offering, and guide people to and from Holy Communion. Good for people who like to be active during worship.

Lectors — These are the folks who aren’t afraid to stand up and read the Scriptures during worship. If you’re a confident speaker, this a good ministry for you.

Sacristan — Another behind-the-scenes role where Holy Communion is carefully prepared before worship and the elements are properly handled after worship. Good for detail-oriented people who like things done correctly.

Communion Bread Baker — If you love to bake, we’d love to let you! We supply the recipe and instructions, you supply the ingredients and enthusiasm.

A/V Operator — Run our projection system (ProPresenter), video cameras, sound board, and streaming. It’s behind-the-scenes but critical both for in-person worship and also our online community and those who listen on the radio on KKOJ. If you like technology, this will be a great fit.

You can now review all of these roles on our new Worship page on this website, and read the detailed instructions we provide for each of these responsibilities. When you’re reading to take the next step, contact the office and talk to Sara.

Our sound board is even cooler than this one.
