Raise the Roof: Thank You
· Pastor Ted Carnahan
Sunday afternoon, Melynda Tracey sat down at the piano, our bell choir played on the newly refurbished bells, and Ryan Faber sang, and together we raised $2,723 for our capital campaign.
That brings the campaign to a little over $12,500, which is past the 10% mark on our $100,000 goal.
Every dollar of it goes to the work you’ve been watching happen around the building. The education wing roof is being replaced, the other roof segments are being repaired, and the fellowship hall and kitchen have air conditioning again.
A concert like that one doesn’t come together by itself, and Melynda asked us to pass along her thanks to the people who helped her put it on:
- Our Savior’s council, for letting her take over the sanctuary for an afternoon
- The OSLC Hand Bell Choir and Ryan Faber, who performed with her
- Sam and Pam Tracey, Nora Lilleberg, and William Rolfson, for their support, encouragement, and love
- Her piano teachers, Nancy Zimmermann, Ann Spragle-Hartman, Joan Holt, Tim McConnell, and Dr. Tim Schmidt
- Her piano students and their families, who ushed that afternoon and filled the room
- Ashley Schmidt, who handled the sound, and Cameron Haaland, who served as master of ceremonies
- And everyone who set aside a Sunday afternoon to be here, including the ones who gave up the first half of the Vikings
Most of all, she thanks God for the gift of music. Her hope, in her own words, is that you enjoyed the concert and that the music touched your lives.
If you’d like to add to what the concert started, you can give through the church office or online, and you can read more about what the campaign is paying for in Expanding our Capital Campaign.
Peace in Christ,
Pastor Ted Carnahan
