How do my kids connect at Our Savior’s?
Children
All children begin their journey of faith with Holy Baptism. At age three, parents present their children with an age-appropriate Bible provided by Our Savior’s. Preschoolers can attend Lighthouse Children’s Ministry on Wednesday nights. Third graders receive another Bible as they move into more mature learning.
In fifth grade, students prepare for First Communion — classes meet on Wednesday afternoons during Lent, and they take their first communion on Maundy Thursday.
We also hold Vacation Bible School each summer and a no-rehearsal Christmas pageant in December.
Middle School Youth
Starting in sixth grade, students begin a three-year Confirmation program that prepares them to affirm their baptisms in October of their freshman year of high school. They also serve as acolytes, attend youth group lock-ins, and other youth ministry opportunities.
High School Youth
After confirmation, students are encouraged to be full adult members of the congregation. Branches is our high school youth group focused on Scripture, Creed, and Confession — meeting Wednesday nights. Graduating seniors receive a personalized quilt as a token of our love as they step out into the world.
